NEW COMMANDER AT US BASE

As we say goodbye to Lt. Col. J (Mike) Lahoff we send a warm welcome to the new US Base Commander, Major Jeffrey Lowdemilk USAF who was sworn in at a Ceremony held at the American Base on Tuesday, 7th July. The ceremony was conducted by Lt Cot Altier.

Major Lowdennilk's last command was at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina where he was Maintenance Officer on an F 16 Fighter Squadron. He is no stranger to working with us Brits when he worked in Turkey for three months on Operation Northern Watch.

Major Lowdermilk is here unaccompanied; he leaves his wife Susan and 4 year old daughter Ashley back in North Carolina, allowing his wife who is an accountant, to continue her studies for her Masters degree.

Amongst his hobbies is walking (so he shouldn't be bored here) and he can't wait for the next Dew Pond Run, for which he has issued a challenge to the Base Commander in Antigua. He is now working on a group of people from Patrick A.F.B. So he has laid down the challenge of which we will eagerly await the outcome over the next two years.
