On 4 July, the United States of America celebrates the 236th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. I take great pleasure in sending my best wishes to Major Andrew Peterson, Commander of the United States Base, and all United States Citizens on Ascension Island, on this important day.

Acting Administrator
The Administrator will be absent from Ascension Island during the following dates:
6 – 12 July 2012.
His Excellency Mark Capes, Governor of St Helena, Ascension Island and Tristan da Cunha, has appointed Mr Paul Cook, AIG Director of Resources, as Acting Administrator during these absences.
