Ascension : Falklands and Ascension BFBS Big Salute Charity Fundraiser Event
Submitted by The Islander (Islander Editors) 26.04.2012 (Article Archived on 10.05.2012)

Dear The Islander

Re: The Falklands and Ascension BFBS Big Salute Charity Fundraiser Event

I am writing in the hope you might support our efforts towards this year's The 'Big Salute' Appeal.  The charities that will benefit from our fundraising are:
FAB , Combat Stress, Veteran's Aid, BLESMA and St Dunstan's.

The British Forces and its contractors all around the world are the major contributors to these charities through their donations, time and energy invested in the cause.  The pinnacle of our fund-raising for this year will be an 'On Air Auction' in June. Throughout the working day we'll auction off items and services from weekends away, to chocolate cake.

Would it be possible for you to offer publicity for this event? We would love to hear from anyone in Ascension who would like to donate an auction item.

If you have any questions regarding this year's appeal or would like more information then please do not hesitate to contact me ay
falklands@bfbs.com.

If there are any fun events planned this year, perhaps you would consider the Big Salute as one of your causes.

I understand there are many deserving causes also looking for support and therefore would be extremely grateful for any assistance you could provide.

Best wishes,
Angela McLeod
