ST HELENA LAND DEVELOPMENT CONTROL PLAN, and ACCESS TO MONKEY ROCK CEMETARY

Notices from The Administrator
ST HELENA LAND DEVELOPMENT CONTROL PLAN
As many residents from St Helena will be aware, the Government of St Helena has been consulting on a Land Development Control Plan. A first round of consultations took place in 2011.
The second draft of the Plan has now been issued by the Government of St Helena. Full copies of the plan can be viewed at the Administrator’s Office. In addition, a six page Explanatory Plan and Summary is available by e-mail from Nicola Dillon (nicola.dillon@ascension.gov.ac, phone 7000 ext 131). Copies will also be placed on Government notice boards.
The Governor of St Helena places a priority in seeking contributions and input to the Plan from St Helenians in Ascension Island, UK, Falkland Islands, as well as those living in St Helena.
Representations should be sent to secretary@legalandlands.gov.sh
ACCESS TO MONKEY ROCK CEMETARY
I have decided to allow access to the Residency grounds for those residents and visitors who would like to see the gardens, enjoy the views and have access to the Monkey Rock Cemetery. New signage points the way to an access gate to the cemetery.
I respectfully ask that cars are parked in the small car park before the Residency gate, no picnics are taken in the grounds, and the privacy of residents is respected – in addition to the Residency, a neighbouring housing unit is also occupied.
