Ascension : Keep Ascension Clean - “Adopt A Road”
Submitted by The Islander (Islander Editors) 02.02.2012 (Article Archived on 16.02.2012)

It’s been a few years since we last had some volunteers to help keep our roadsides clean of cans and bottles that others so selfishly and mindlessly discard.

It’s been a few years since we last had some volunteers to help keep our roadsides clean of cans and bottles that others so selfishly and mindlessly discard.

We are looking for new volunteers to “Adopt a Road”, trying to keep the roadsides clean – it needn’t be an every week job, may be once a month or whenever you can – any effort to help Keep Ascension Clean is appreciated.

Perhaps it might just be a section of road that you walk regularly and you may be able to take along a plastic bag to collect any discarded cans etc. Every little helps.

If you would like to volunteer to adopt one of the road sections below, please contact Johnny at 6348 (W) or 6355 (H) to “book your road”.

“If it looks clean, it tends to stay clean”

1.      Georgetown – Hogans By Pass - VOLUNTEERED

2.     Hogans By Pass - VOLUNTEERED

3.     Hogans By Pass – Base

7.     Mountain Road - VOLUNTEERED

8.     Two Boats Village to Start of Dump

WE’VE HAD SOME VOLUNTEERS COME FORWARD BUT STILL NEED SOME MORE.
