The Ascension Island Government is seeking to recruit a temporary Clerical Assistant for a period of approximately eight weeks to work in the Shipping Office in Georgetown.

The Ascension Island Government is seeking to recruit a temporary Clerical Assistant for a period of approximately eight weeks to work in the Shipping Office in Georgetown.
The main duties of the post are:
· To be the dedicated Post Holder for Flight Bookings
· Updating daily flight bookings on a database
· Maintaining records of all flight transactions
· To be the interface between AITA and the travelling public and as such maintaining a high profile in customer relations
· To represent AITA at the Passenger Terminal for South Bound and North Bound Flights
· To manage all flight sales/ supplier transactions
· Operating the flight booking system
· Maintaining good working relations with the MOD Defence Passenger Reservation Centre (DPRC) in the UK
· Providing support services to the Shipping Office.
The successful candidate should have:
· A minimum of 3 years experience working in office administration.
- A good general education.
- A good standard of computer literacy.
- Excellent customer care skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure.
This is a household status position (only suitable for someone living on Ascension who is already a member of another person’s household that provides accommodation and allowances). Salary for the position will depend upon qualifications and experience.
