Ascension : Hash Trash - Hash No:1381
Submitted by The Islander (Islander Editors) 13.10.2011 (Article Archived on 27.10.2011)

A small crowd of hardy souls ignored parties, rugby and whatever to turn out for the start of the hash at the parking area for Devil’s Riding School.

Hash No: 1381

Hare:  Wood’n’Pecker

Hounds:  Tom Thumb, Bloodsucker, Arndt, Sniffy, Simply Indiscrete

A small crowd of hardy souls ignored parties, rugby and whatever to turn out for the start of the hash at the parking area for Devil’s Riding School.  Alas, the on-on led across the road: Tom Thumb had the wrong shoes on for sure!

From there, the hash can be summed up thus:  rocks, gullys, uphills, Mexican Thorn, more rocks, more gullys, more uphills, more thorn trees, rain, slippery rocks, hare took a detour to a cave, joined briefly by a furry friend, more rocks, more gullys, more thorn trees, more rain, more uphills, four (not three!) circle checks and still heading away from the vehicles!!

Finally started heading back, made it to the road, but no, across to the other side, and started climbing over more rocks on the side of Devil’s Riding School!

Eventually made it back for refreshments, a little more rain and comparing scratched legs and arms!   Then, some had to take off early to get into their Oktoberfest gear!

Thanks, Wood’n’Pecker, great hash over some unusual territory.

Next Week:  Turn right at the end of the Long Beach soccer pitch and park by the big rock with a metal teepee in front of it, in the middle of an old antenna field!

Hares:  Tom Thumb and Bloodsucker

PS It’s a regular hash, with hash and all!
