Role: Serco Defence, Science and Nuclear have a vacancy for a Vehicle Mechanic
Location: Airhead, Ascension Island
Hours: The post is contracted to a 40 hour week, flexible hours may be worked which would include evenings, weekends and public holidays. Applicants should be aware that 1 week in every 3 they will be on stand by duty recovery call-out and this would include weekends and Public Holidays.
The post is unaccompanied status
The main duties and responsibilities of the role are:
- Maintenance of a variety of Airfield Specialist Vehicles, Land Rovers, Mechanical Handling Equipment, Fire Tenders, Refuelling vehicles cars, vans and large trucks.
Interested Candidates will need to:
- Possess a sound Mechanical Engineering background.
- Be trained and authorised in Motor Transport Maintenance
- Be in possession of the following minimum AIG vehicle licenses: Classes, A, B, C, D and J
· Be Proactive with high customer service skills.
· IT literate.
· Physically fit.
· Be prepared to undertake any other duty within their capability.
And will have:
· A good standard of education.
· Excellent team working skills.
· A full, clean, driving licence.
· Good interpersonal and communication skills.
· Strong personal values and self motivation.
