Ascension Explorers

On their final week of the summer holiday we took the Explorers to Bullock Ponds to look at the plant life and wildlife around the area and to learn about the letterbox.

Everyone did really well heading up the track and back down. Well done and see you all next year.

Thank you to Two Boats School and Godfrey Phillips for transporting everyone.

Thank you and Farewell

Olivia and Dave with the team

We would like to say a huge thank you and farewell to our Assistant Conservation Officer Olivia Renshaw. Olivia left us at the weekend along with Dave Drake, to start their new life together. She joined us in 2009 under the OTEP Endemic Plants Project, and then progressed on to becoming an Assistant Officer. She has taken part in many activities and worked with all aspects of Ascension Conservation. It has been a pleasure to have worked with Olivia and we will miss her as part of our team. Dave has been volunteering with us, clearing paths and helping with the restoration of Endemic Plants. We wish them both all the best in their future endeavors.

We would also like to say thank you and farewell to our Administrator Mr Ross Denny, his wife Claudia and their children Victor and Amanda.

It has been a pleasure working with them both.  We thank them for their support and voluntary work during their time here.

We wish them all the best for the future.

From all at Conservation

Litter and Fire

When out picnicking, barbecuing and enjoying yourselves, please keep Ascension green by placing your litter in the appropriated bins or take it home. Please do not litter.

Extinguish your BBQs and cigarettes ends safely; there is lots of dried grass about.

FIRES-think safely

Please be advised that due to on-going field work the Conservation Office will open from 7.30am -10am during week days. We open as normal on Saturdays, 10am-12noon. Volunteers welcome.
