VACANCY FOR QUALITY ASSURANCE COORDINATOR
The Ascension Island Government (AIG) is seeking to recruit a competent, conscientious and self-motivated person to fill a vacant position of Quality Assurance Coordinator.
The principal duties of the post include:
- Implementation and maintenance of AIG’s Quality Management System (QMS).
- Reporting on a regular basis to the Director of Operations on matters relating to the implementation and maintenance of the QMS.
- Planning internal audit schedules and collating audit findings.
- Monitoring non-conformance within the operation.
- Monitoring corrective and preventive action completion.
- Maintaining quality records and documentation in good order.
- Administering the management review process.
8. Reporting to the Annual Quality Review on the performance of the QMS.
9. Organising and managing external audits.
10. Maintaining effective document control of quality documentation.
11. Collating and analysing performance data arising from activities relating to the quality management system.
- Reporting monthly to Team Leaders meetings.
The successful applicant should have:
- A good standard of education, preferably with GCSE’s in English and Mathematics at Grades C or above.
- Experience working in a similar role and have a good understanding of Quality Management Systems. (Whilst this is desirable, due consideration will also be given to applicants who do not have the necessary experience but show a genuine ability and willingness to learn about QMS).
- Analytical and numeracy skills with a view to assimilating a diverse range of information and interpret and communicate its meaning.
- The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and senior management.
- Good IT skills (including the use of spreadsheets).
- The ability to be methodical with attention to detail.
- An assertive approach, i.e. to challenge senior colleagues to ensure their approach is compliant, would be desirable.
- A good clean driving licence for class A & B vehicles.
Engagement will be on a single status basis. A competitive salary will be paid. The successful candidate will also receive: a single allowance of £2,797 per annum, rent free accommodation, utility allowances, mid-tour passage/flight, a gratuity at completion of 2 year contract, free medical and primary dental treatment and generous baggage allowances.
