Over past few weeks we have been busy carrying out our annual plant census in all the endemic plant wild populations around the Island.

Volunteers Lorna and Kitty Cook and Jolene Sim have been helping with various conservation activities such as plant propagation, planting in the restoration site, weeding, the plant census and seabird monitoring.

We were visited by Two Boats School reception class last week with teacher Tammy Roberts and assistants Clare Grey and Margaret McMullen. The pupils learnt about the Green Turtles and were shown the Turtle Pounds

We like to welcome youth trainee Kayshai Reynolds who is working alongside all of the team, taking part in the plant census, bird monitoring, data entry and propagation of the endemic plants. Kayshai has worked with us briefly last year and will continue to gain more experience over the next few weeks.

Over the summer holidays we will be taking the school children out on explorer adventures.

The New Horizons will arrive from St Helena next week. We are going to accompany them on trips to Shelly Beach, Green Mountain, seabird nesting sites and getting them involved with a beach clean up.
