SOFTBALL KNOCKOUT FINALE – Everyone is invited to come along and watch the exciting finish of the 2011 Softball Knockout…where two teams will be battling head-to-head to claim the title of Champions.  A presentation of trophies for both League and Knockout will be held at the end of the match.

POOL & DARTS TOURNAMENT – We are still open to anyone wishing to participate!  You can either sign up on the Volcano Club foyer notice-board, or enter your teams on Saturday night!  Prizes for 1st place and runners-up in each event…as well as a few special awards.

4th of JULY CELEBRATIONS FLOAT REMINDER….don’t forget…if you are thinking of entering a float for the competition, names must be entered to Marie-Anne Dennis (tel no: 2616/2269) - no later than Friday 17th June.

RULES OF ENTRY

(a) The theme for the floats is simply ‘AMERICA’.  Basically, floats may portray anything that is directly related to America ie: achievements, brand name merchandise, history, culture, exploration, buildings, monuments, music/film icons, famous people etc.

(b) Float vehicles are restricted to a weight limit of 1 1/2 ton ie: only small pick-up vans/buses/bikes/quads etc allowed.  TRACTOR & TRAILERS AND LOW-BOYS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.

(c) ‘Characters’ may accompany your float.  If you wish to dress up and walk alongside, in front/ behind, then please feel free to do so.

(d) All floats will be lead by a live band, but you may bring along your own recorded music             —if it is applicable to your float ensemble.

(e) All float entries must be at the USAF Base motor pool—for positioning—between the hours of 1145 - 1230 (the latest) on Saturday                 2nd July.  NOTE:  The parade will begin at 1230 hrs sharp

It's that time of year again!  The 4th of July celebration is fast approaching and the success of this event is only possible with the valuable input of volunteers!

So…once again, it is hoped that people will be willing to assist with either setting up (day before), helping to man a stall/or event (day of), or lending a hand to tear everything down (day after).  Any time that you can ‘donate’ will be appreciated!

NOTE:  This year’s celebration will be on Saturday 2ndof July.

A sign-up sheet will be placed in the Volcano Club notice-board for anyone interested, or you can call Marie-Anne Dennis on 2616/2269 for further information.

NOTE:  There will be a ‘food & booze’ party for all the helpers – on Sunday 3rd July, at 1800 hours.
