ST.MARY’S—ASCENSION

Ascension Day Fair 2011

After much hard work and publicity, the Ascension Day Fair has been and gone. From comments so far, it would seem that most persons had an enjoyable time. We certainly had an enjoyable time putting it together for you. The weather was kind and there was lots to see, eat , drink and do. It was also pleasant to note that there was a fun, friendly and relaxing atmosphere in the square on Saturday. The good turn out was also extremely encouraging and in fact, made all the hard work really worth it

The hard and talented work put into the craft show by the pupils and teachers of Two Boats School was extremely commendable. Thanks must go to all concerned and in particular Mrs Alison Birkett and Ms Carolyn Yon. Congratulations to all winners and well done to everyone.

The effort put into the ADF was really well worth it and we must thank everyone involved. We have no idea yet of how much was raised for St.Mary’s as the proceeds are still being counted. We will however publish a full account as soon as the figures are available.

There is a thank you list further on in the Islander but we would like to apologise, in advance, if we have left anyone out. It was certainly not intentional, in fact we would like to duplicate our most sincere thanks to everyone who supported, helped or donated towards the ADF, no matter how small your contribution might have been, every little bit helps and was sincerely appreciated. Through your hard work and support everyone would seem to have had a good time on Saturday. Well done everyone!

Thank you and God Bless You ALL
