Ascension : Employee of the Year Award
Submitted by The Islander (Islander Editors) 10.02.2011 (Article Archived on 24.02.2011)

The Babcock Management Team decided that they would recognise the contributions of their employees through an Employee of the Year Award.

The Babcock Management Team decided that they would recognise the contributions of their employees through an Employee of the Year Award.  Staff were asked to nominate colleagues who in their opinion deserve to receive such an award.  The only criteria being the Functional and Behavioural acumens of the individual.  All staff were asked to vote on line anonymously and the nominees for the employee of the year award were; Brian Henry, Trevor Fowler, Linda Yon, Chris George and

Lionel Thomas. It is fair to say that all five individuals are personification of the dedicated, highly-skilled and hard-working people at Atlantic Relay Station.  It is a compliment to them all that they have been recognised by their colleagues who voted for them.  There are of course many other Babcock employees with the same work ethic and dedication like the above-mentioned and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of them for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.

The recipient of the 2010 Employee of the Year Award was Linda Yon. Linda received the most votes amongst all the Nominees. At the Babcock Staff Party on 30th December, Linda was presented with  the award (a decanter with Employee of the Year 2010 engraved on the wooden base) by the HH The Administrator.  The other nominees of the award received an engraved clock.  In addition all Nominees also received a small gift.
