Those happy, healthy and not involved in family affairs met at the Scouts Beach hut for a little light exercise to wear off those excess calories form the day before. This being a hash set by Baggage Boy and Man Beater promised a good run out.
The hazards were given as sea, rocks and washed away hash. Not to fear, the generous blobs leading across the coast could be spied from the starting point, so the on-on was howled and we set off south along the rocks.
A great route followed the coastline round beaches and bays. Goat Chaser being the first to collect a few more bruises and scratches on the way. Wood ‘n’ Pecker found a blowhole and couldn’t resist dropping hash into the opening to create a snow effect, very amusing to those passing by who were covered in paper shreds! His next entertaining trick was to lower himself into a little lava hole and growl at those passing. Mucky Digger decided to join him and crawled through the lava tunnel.
At the old cable route, Bloodsucker needed to take a shortcut back, this being a Sunday she had to be at the Grotto very shortly! The little legs in the group also decided to follow a track inland. The vivid rainbows over Cross Hill will be a memorable image of the Boxing Day Hash for the rest of the year.
On return to the Scouts Hut a decorated red land rover made its way along the road. Santa had left a hashy sack of gifts for the young adventurers with Mr Short. The old man himself was obviously too tired to join the hash today and would be fast asleep recovering from his travels.
Mulled wine and Mince pies were shared, washed down with plenty beer. Thanks to Man Beater and Baggage Boy for the coastal explorations.
