Ascension : Police Report

Since the last report the island police have dealt with a number of matters:

 

POLICE  REPORT

 

THE EMERGENCY NUMBER FOR THE POLICE IS:

6666

 

This number is staffed 24/7 if it is a genuine emergency please use it.

Just because there is not a Police Officer in the Police Station it does not mean there are no officers on duty. You can also leave a message on the confidential crime line about any issue; this will be treated in the strictest of confidence, the telephone number is:  6777.

 

Since the last report the island police have dealt with a number of matters:

  

On 17/5/10 a two vehicle road accident occurred within Travellers Hill, no injuries were received. The two male drivers provided negative breath tests and one of the drivers was given a verbal warning, concerning driving without due care and attention.

 

On 20/5/10 a female was given advice, concerning landing on Ascension Island without being in possession of an Entry Permit.

 

On 21/05/10 complaints were received concerning loud music emitting from premises within Georgetown. The matter was dealt with by giving advice to all involved parties.

 

On 21/05/10 a couple were given advice after a minor domestic disturbance in Georgetown.

 

On 24/05/10 police assisted with a broken down vehicle which was causing a minor obstruction on Nasa Road.

 

On 29/05/10 police gave advice to a visiting sailor after a minor altercation at Georgetown Pier.

 

On 03/06/10 a single vehicle road accident occurred on Old Mountain Road, near to Two Boats. The male driver, the sole occupant, was not injured but given a warning concerning driving without due care and attention.

 

On 06/06/10 a complaint was received concerning noise emitting from premises in Georgetown. Advice was given to all parties concerned. 

 

On 13/06/10 a complaint was received concerning disorderly/threatening behaviour. Police enquiries continue regarding this matter.

 

On 13/06/10 a quantity of live ammunition was found near to North East Bay and was handed into the police for disposal.

 

On 15/06/10 a domestic dwelling was entered in Two Boats. Police enquiries continue regarding this matter.

 

On 15/06/10 a complaint was received concerning an allegation of dangerous driving. The matter was investigated and advice was given.

 

On 16/06/10 an allegation of theft was received concerning items having been removed from premises near to the United States Base. Enquiries continue into this matter.

 

On 18/06/10 a hit and run road accident occurred within Travellers Hill. A blue Ford Orion was struck by another vehicle, which failed to stop and report the matter. Indications are that the vehicle responsible has white paintwork.

 

 

ADVANCED NOTICE - 2pm WEDNESDAY 30 JUNE 2010

 

Two Boats School pupils will be running from the Cable & Wireless Earth Station, along Nasa Road into Georgetown via, Command Hill, the U.S. Base and Gannett Road. Would all drivers please take extra care. The route will be sign posted and both school Marshall’s and the police will be in attendance. Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
