The Temptations of Jesus. (Luke 4: 1-13)

The Gospel for last Sunday, First Sunday of Lent, we heard how Jesus was led by the Spirit through the wilderness and was tempted there by the devil.

We all have to face temptations and Lent provides us with the opportunity to increase our efforts to overcome them.

To resist temptations is not going to be easy but we know that God is with us in our struggles and will help us to overcome them.

Jesus temptations were not a one –off affair, and neither ours.  We know they will return and whenever we come face to face with them is to turn to God for his help.  Without his help we will not overcome our struggles against temptations.

Have a pleasant week.

Canon Clive.
