Ascension : Church News
Submitted by The Islander (Clive & Jenny Duncan) 21.01.2010 (Article Archived on 04.02.2010)

There was a wedding in Cana of Galilee. The mother of Jesus was there. Jesus and his disciples had also been invited.

There was a wedding in Cana of Galilee.  The mother of Jesus was there.  Jesus and his disciples had also been invited.  When the wine ran out  his mother asks him to do something about it and he does.  She tells the servants “Do whatever he tells you”.

There were six stone water jars standing there each could hold twenty or thirty gallons of water.  Jesus said to the servants to “Fill the jars with water” and they filled them to the brim.

Although their task was tedious and time consuming the servants nevertheless obeyed Jesus and were the first to witness his first miracle, turning water into wine.

We are all called to be God’s servants and just like the servants at the wedding,  to do whatever he tells us.

Have an enjoyable week

Canon Clive.
