Ascension : Public Notice - Commission Of Enquiry
Submitted by The Islander (Ascension Island Government) 22.01.2009 (Article Archived on 05.02.2009)

The Enquiry that I set up some months ago into concerns based around Two Boats School has now been completed and the conclusions communicated to those involved.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Enquiry that I set up some months ago into concerns based around Two Boats School has now been completed and the conclusions communicated to those involved.  My role as Governor is to examine those findings and take any action that may be felt necessary.

This Enquiry took longer than anticipated but gathering evidence was complicated by the wide geographical spread of those involved.  In my view the Enquiry was appropriately thorough and the conclusions are coherent and logical.  In the light of those conclusions I have decided that no formal action needs to be taken.

There remains an ongoing police investigation into the obtaining of private email exchanges within the Ascension Island Government system, but that has always been outside the scope of this Enquiry.

I would like to thank Frank Savage for his patience, accuracy and wisdom, and I hope that we can now move on for the sake of the youngsters and the wider community.

A.M. Gurr
Governor
