Despite the holiday season, work continues on the many projects at the Heritage Society. We will be holding a “Work Morning” this Sunday, December 29th, at 0930h to work on a number of projects, which include painting a wall in preparation for a special temporary exhibit (watch this space for more details!), painting sign posts and others. If anyone would like to help out, please drop by the Museum. Afterwards we will be celebrating both our accomplishments and the Christmas season with a pot luck lunch at the Fort.
The museum will be open this Saturday so if the kids are getting bored, or you have visitors sharing the holidays with you, please drop by!
The volunteer members of the Ascension Island Heritage Society would like to thank everyone who has donated their time and talents this year. We have accomplished so much, and the Day of Remembrance was a resounding success. We continue to make huge strides in updating and upgrading our facilities, and in recognizing local landmarks. We cannot do it without the help that was so generously given this past year. Ascension Island has a unique and fascinating history that deserves to be preserved.
So, on behalf of everyone at the Heritage Society, we are extending a great big thank you from the bottom of our hearts. And may each and every one of you have a wonderful Christmas season, and nothing but the best in 2009!
