Ascension : Christmas Messages
Submitted by The Islander (Islander Internet Editor) 25.12.2008 (Article Archived on 08.01.2009)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I've enjoyed your “news paper" for a few years, especially the pictures.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I've enjoyed your “news paper" for a few years, especially the pictures. They give me an idea of the island. This issue showed a neat Christmas Tree of kids on the sand. I'm a 74 year old retiree living in upstate New York. This morning it's 0F, or -18C, with about 15' of snow - fairly typical for this time of year. If any of the kids or teachers want to email me I'd be glad to hear from them.

Please can you wish my little Sister and her family a very merry Christmas. This will be their first Christmas on the Ascension Island and they are missed by all their family back in the UK. It is great to know that they are loving their new life there and thank you for keeping us well informed at what is happening out there through your newspaper. If you could it is Helen and Steve Tobin and their wonderful children Morgan and Faye. Love to you all, lots of hugs and kisses Lesley xxx

A very Merry Christmas to you too Mr Editor.

Merry Christmas

to all of our friends on Ascension, and very best wishes for a happy and healthy 2009.

We miss you all very much.  Keep the updates coming and we look forward to seeing some of you next year.

Enjoy the sunny weather and smiley faces!

Catherine, Paul and Beatrix Knowles

It's great that The Islander has taken over the organising and sponsorship of the Christmas Lights competition; we're delighted to see that it continues even after our departure, and we can't wait to see the photographs of this year's winners.
