Well, no small crowd this week for sure! Loads of hashers gathered at the old Exile’s beach hut at Catherine Point to see what the girls had set for their hash!

Apres Hash:  100 Watt, Louis, Michelle, Steve, Kyle

Well, no small crowd this week for sure!  Loads of hashers gathered at the old Exile’s beach hut at Catherine Point to see what the girls had set for their hash!  They put Lanky in charge of the FRBs, unbeknownst to him, but he readily agreed.  There were some rumours about no hash in some areas, but despite this, off we went on the on-on, up the track and across the old antenna field heading for the houses in Georgetown.

Across the road and back behind the other houses, across the old golf course.  A herd of donkeys caused a bit of a delay as everyone had to stop, admire and photograph the two newest members of the herd!!  Strawberry Girl even had to lean down from her perch on Foreign Body’s shoulders to give one of the donkeys a pat.  Then it was on-on to the base of Cross Hill.  If this was only the first of five circle checks, we knew we were in trouble.  There was some talk of missing a circle check, which we could only hope was true!!

While a few FRBs were seen climbing straight up the side of the hill, for most the next bit was up the track to the steps at the bottom of the old Governor’s Lodge.  From there it was climbing the steps, and then more steps to the next circle check.  Poor little Madam Mardy Pants took a bit of a tumble and bumped her head!  It was only a minor drama, then back to the hash, albeit in Mummy’s arms, although she gave Nip’n’Suck a brief respite when she let Bloodsucker take over!

From there it was over the embankment and along the track. We wound our way down to the beach in the vicinity of the old petrol tanks.  Back along the track and then a rather scattered trip through Georgetown and on to the pipeline.  At the beginning of Deadman’s Beach, a choice was offered….continue along the pipeline or take the beach.  Bloodsucker and Florida Arse were seen trying to time their trip around some rocks, trying to avoid the waves!

Soon it was all back together at the end of the cemetery road, and along the old track to Catherine Point and the refreshments!  Lots to munch on while the barbecue heated up.  100 Watt, sporting a rather clever sandal, had done a marvelous job of guarding the beer, much to the gratitude of the weary, dusty hashers! 

There was a lot of hash business to conduct so it was soon down to it.  The circle of friendship was drawn, and first up were a number of littler hashers.  Amanda was named Strawberry Girl by her mom.  Trey has become Mini Menace, and Brandi has been renamed after another drink and will now be known as Whiskey.  Then it was time for Ross to step into the circle, to the delight of many of the crowd.  After a number of great suggestions, he was christened Foreign Body.  After his dousing, it was Claudia’s turn.  It seems they had an agreement to not dish any dirt, so it was up to the hashers to come up with a suitable name.  She is now known as Brazilian Butt.  Zelko was teased mightily about his shirt, but it was his noisy night time sounds that earned him the name Bed Saw!  Then, a surprise was sprung on Adam, a rare visitor for whom, on Switch Hitter’s insistence, the rules were waived and he was named after two hashes!  He returns to Florida with the new moniker Florida Arse!  Lucky him!

The littler hashers all had a grand time playing in the sand, Tripper braved the surf, and everyone had a great time.  Hotdogs and hamburgers supplemented all the other treats and were enjoyed after all the namings.  Mildew mentioned there was a substantial amount in the hash fund so a Christmas celebration is in the offing.  Stay tuned for more on that!
