Submitted by The Islander (Clive & Jenny Duncan) 26.06.2008 (Article Archived on 10.07.2008)

Before Bishop John left for the United Kingdom last Thursday he celebrated the Holy Eucharist in St. Mary’s on Wednesday evening and admitted the new Church Council.  He was only here for one day this time but we can look forward to having him for a longer period in September.

It was a most welcome surprise to have Mark Higgison in church on Sunday morning.  Some of you will remember Mark as a member of St. Mary’s Church choir a few years ago.  Welcome back Mark it is nice to have you with us again.

As you know Father’s Day was on 15 June and to celebrate Father’s Day we are having a ‘Songs of Praise’ accompanied by a live band at 10.30 am followed by fellowship this coming Sunday, 29 June.  We trust that you will be able to join us.

Have a pleasant and enjoyable week,

Canon Clive
