Ascension : Church News
Submitted by The Islander (Clive & Jenny Duncan) 29.05.2008 (Article Archived on 12.06.2008)

It is always a pleasure to welcome visitors to our beautiful church here in Georgetown, and to see them spend a quiet period in prayer.

It is always a pleasure to welcome visitors to our beautiful church here in Georgetown, and to see them spend a quiet period in prayer.

When Jesus was on this earth he prayed often and also taught his disciples how to pray and promised them that their prayers will be heard.  This promise is also for us.  We know that God is faithful in keeping his promises. Although we may not receive everything we ask for we still believe that God hears and will answer our prayers.

St. Mary’s Church is always open and everyone is welcome to go in to spend a quiet period with God away from the busy world outside.

With love and prayers

Canon Clive.

Confirmation preparation classes will be starting next month.  Closing date for names will be noon on Friday 30 May.
