Ascension : From St Mary's Church

ASCENSION DAY FAIR 2007 - Another successful event for St. Mary's Parish. Over the last couple of weeks I was given good sound advice "it will all come together on the day" having expressed my concern that we were running very close to the day itself with very little response in the way of contributions .

However, my concerns was soon expelled as things started to arrive at the Vicarage.  It is good to know that there are still generous people around supporting such events as the Fair not forgetting the willing hands on the day.

First I must thank the Ascension Day Fair Committee for the time they devoted over the past months attending the meetings and helping out on Saturday and to all who gave of their time.  Thanks to the Management of the Two Boats Club for allowing us the use of the Club and thanks to Miss Ascension for opening the Fair.  The food tent and the bar were the busy areas, thanks for your hard work in keeping everyone 'fed and watered'.

Our next duty is to publish the Financial Statement which will be published in the Island shortly.
