Thursday 18th January, we saw the departure of Tara Pelembe who left the island to take up employment with JNCC (Joint Nature Conservation Committee) in Petersburg UK.
Thursday 18th January, we saw the departure of Tara Pelembe who left the island to take up employment with JNCC (Joint Nature Conservation Committee) in Petersburg UK. Tara has worked as Conservation Officer for the Ascension Island Government since the post was first created five years ago. During this time Tara has worked with all aspects of conservation including the successful eradication of the Feral Cats and Seabird Restoration which made a global impact on this important project – Tara’s relentless passion for Biodiversity loss and ecosystem disruption has played an essential and significant role on the Ascension Island ecosystem.
We thank Tara for her valuable contribution to the Conservation Team, and wish her well in her new job.
