Ascension : From St Mary's Church
Submitted by The Islander (Clive & Jenny Duncan) 18.01.2007 (Article Archived on 01.02.2007)

Dear All, I cannot miss this opportunity to thank all who helped and supported us with the 12th Night Ball. The hall was beautifully decorated for the occasion, the DJ did a marvellous job with his selection of music and Alan for the prize dances that he got right, especially the 'Heads and Tails'.

We are slowly but surely getting back into the swing of things again with our people returning after spending their vacation either on St. Helena or elsewhere.  It is good to see you all again.

It is time to remind you that we will be calling for nominations for the Parochial Church Council very shortly.  It is not too early to start looking around and to approach someone of your choice to represent you on the Council.  If your are interested in putting your name forward you are most welcome to come and see me in the Vicarage should you need information pertaining to the working of the Council or alternatively speak with one of the current members:-

Mrs. Prudence Peters      Mrs. Jennifer Duncan

Miss Nicola Dillon   Miss Lisa Lawrence

Mr.   Alan Nicholls, Sgt.  Clarence Roberts (Police), Mr. Dave Wood

Ascension Day Fair.  We are still open for suggestions and ideas for the Fair.  We have had two meetings already that were not well attended. If you can spare a little of your time over the next few months you are most welcome to come and join us.

Have a pleasant and enjoyable week.

Canon Clive.
