The Ascension Island Government is pleased to announce that, with effect from Friday 1st December 2006, the sale of commercial air tickets from the UK to Ascension Island and from Ascension Island to the UK on the MOD South Atlantic Charter will be handled exclusively by the Ascension Island Travel Agency (AITA).
The Ascension Island Travel Agency, AITA, is located at the AIG Shipping Office in Georgetown and is the primary contact for enquiries. Bookings can be made in person, or by telephone + 00 247 6244, Fax + 00 247 6827, or through a specially designed website, www.ascension-flights.com . The site can also be accessed through the AIG website www.ascension-island.gov.ac
The Office will be manned to accept bookings in person from 8.30am to 4.30pm (G.M.T) Monday to Friday. A schedule of the fares and how they are defined is attached to this Press Release.

All Passengers booking flights to and from Ascension Island through the Ascension Island Travel Agency (AITA) shall be charged one of the following “B Class” civil fares as appropriate.

Notes:
1. Children under 2 years of age Travel Free

4. Apex Fares Apply to bookings made and paid for at least
28 days in advance of the flight date.
(Any Immigration requirements must also be satisfied).
5. Group Fares The group fare applies to groups of 6 or
more passengers booking together.
6. Student Fare The Student fare may be offered for persons
under the age of 25, studying on a full-time basis in the UK whose parents are contracted to work on Ascension Island, or reside on St Helena.
BAGGAGE
Baggage allowances on all B Class fares are 27 kilos for adults and children, which includes 4 kilos of hand baggage per person.
Excess baggage cannot be pre-booked and it is not guaranteed that excess baggage will be accepted. This will be at the discretion of the handler at check-in. If excess baggage is accepted, charges will be levied at the prevailing rate.
PAYMENT
The opening hours of the AIG Booking Office are between 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

Payment may be made by the following methods:
1. By credit card/debit card/switch/maestro/solo
(Please note a handling charge will be applied to credit card payments)
2. Bank transfer (local or UK)
3. Cash (Locally only)
4. Cheque (Locally only)
All flights must be paid for in full at least 28 days in advance of travel before any confirmation is given. Payments received late will risk losing their booking and/or being charged at standard economy rates.
CANCELLATIONS AND AMENDMENTS
A charge of £25.00 per entry will be levied by AITA for cancellations and amendments made by passengers.
Passengers cancelling flight bookings less than 28 days before the flight date will forfeit part of their fare as shown below: -
