The gang met up at Garden Cottage with the sun shining and spirits high.  A few eyebrows were raised when Wild Bill Cock appeared with a rope over his shoulder.  Would it be Banana Ravine again or was there something more adventurous in store for us all?  After the usual hazard warnings the On-On was along Ruperts.  A brisk pace was set and we bumbled along as the runners raced ahead.

At the circle check there was quite a wait for the slow coaches and more gossiping took place.  The On-On took us around the corner and then down the hill.  So far all was well and the going was easy.  We set of back along Kronks and were just thinking how easy it all was for a change when lo and behold – it got harder!  The On-On was down.  But not just any old down – it was down the ladder.  Now there was another opportunity for a certain young man to be holding hands.

Once everyone was safely down the ladder and then up the other side the On-On was once again easy.  At the next circle check there was quite a long wait for some missing persons.  In the end the main group headed off and left Fugitive to look after the stragglers.  The path along Kronks wasn’t as muddy as Ruperts so a swift pace soon found us all back at Garden Cottage.  A lovely gentle bimble for a change – well done guys!

The party was soon in full swing with some amazing culinary delights provided by Huff n Puff who slaved over a hot stove for most of the time – well done that woman and a huge Thank you Huff n Puff.

Next up it was the turn, or should I say return, of the Good Guys club.  Certificates were issued to 100 Watt, The Major, Fugitive, Builder’s Bum and Uncle Fester to name but a few.  The big puzzle of the day however was how come one real good guy didn’t get one???  Buford T you’re the best Good Guy and we think you deserve a medal as well as a certificate.  With the BBQ in full swing and plates and plates of food coming out of the kitchens it was time to set alight to two pairs of boots.  Yes, sadly it was Go Go Gadget and Gong Down’s last hash here on Ascension, at least for a while.   It is always sad to see people leave but we’d all like to wish you both all the very best for the future.  We now have a vacancy in the hash team for a prize pizza maker – any takers?

Needless to say the party went on long into the night – great hash one and all!

Next week is at Merlin Mess Hall in Two Boats

Hares Major and Buford T

Apres will be held in Merlin Mess hall
