I guess Sunday must have been a busy one for a number of people who was involved with either the school sports or the fishing competition.

 Dear Friends,

I guess Sunday must have been a busy one for a number of people who was involved with either the school sports or the fishing competition.

However, with all this taking place around the same time as our morning service we did end up with near to a dozen people in the congregation.

Last Thursday morning I had to privilege of taking part once again in the Harvest Festival in the Two Boats School.  The gifts brought to the school was a good sign of our generosity.  I was most impressed with the children, particularly the younger ones, who did their parents proud with their presentations that made the harvest assembly so enjoyable.

ASCENSION DAY FAIR 2007

I will be calling a meeting on Monday 20 November for the purpose of forming a Committee for  next year's Ascension Day Fair.  It will be helpful if the various Organisations send a representative to this meeting, and any one else who is prepared to serve on the Committee, will be most welcome.

FUND RAISING.

The Fund Raising Committee for St. Mary's Parish is in the process of organising an open air dance in aid of parish funds on the evening of Friday 17 November.

St. Mary's Parish is self supporting.  The only income we receive is from donations, fees and church collections.  The Ascension Day Fair is an annual fund raising event but the income is on the decline which means that it has become necessary to fund raise on a smaller scale throughout the year to try and make good the deficit.  If we are unable to raise the amount required to run the Parish then it will only be a matter of time before the funds that are currently available will be exhausted.

We look forward to your continued support.

Have a pleasant week.

Canon Clive.
