Ascension : Two Boats School Shaded Play Area
Submitted by The Islander (Raymond Ellick) 21.09.2006 (Article Archived on 05.10.2006)

Since the new school term began pupils at Two Boats School have been able to play in comfort under the newly erected shaded play area in front of the school.

The work was carried out by staff of the Works Department during the school holidays and was a project under the AIG Capital Programme for 2006/07.

The area is purpose-built and covers the existing sandpit, where pupils now enjoy playing in the shade.  The rubber tiling provides a safe, non-slip surface to prevent any unfortunate accidents.

Head teacher Soo Matthews said, “The children in the lower school at Two Boats would like to thank everyone at AIG who worked on their new playground shade.  I’m sure you agree they look like they are enjoying themselves running around and playing beneath it out of the rays of the sun.”

Nicola Dillon,

Works Office

For: Director of Technical Services
