Well, since the hash scribe was only along for the après, the description of the hash itself will be a little sketchy!!

Hares:  Yeti, Night Owl & Wild Bill Cock

Hounds:  Fugitive, Short’n’Sweet, Major, Greased Lightning, Buford T., Irish Whisky, Rat Catcher, Cockroach, Miss Piggy, Lady Pooh, Hash Banana, Art Farty, Walkie Talkie, Forrest Gump, Jiggy With It, Bob, Hash Head, Easy Rider, Chastity Belt, Chads, Barby Boy, Voodoo Doll, Uncle Fester, 100 Watt, Mildew, Psycho Nuts, Rocks Off, Great Balls of Fire, Chris, Mr. Potato Head, Buttercup

Apres Hashers:  Gumby-Two Scoops & Bloodsucker

Well, since the hash scribe was only along for the après, the description of the hash itself will be a little sketchy!!  It started from the Butt Crater Firing Range, and from what I was told, it involved some treacherous and nerve-wracking scrambles over big boulders, all while climbing uphill!  Apparently this caused some level of unease in a number of hashers who suffer from vertigo.  Also, from what was recounted, there were a number of slips and trips, with Mildew winning the award for the most with three falls! 

Gumby-Two Scoops, having arrived for the après hash, found no hashers in sight, but decided it was about time to start the barbecue.  Since it was getting on, he felt that the sooner the undoubtedly weary hashers had food, the better!  Eventually, the FRBs started drifting in with Fugitive in the lead, followed closely by a few others, including Greased Lightning!  Well done!

It took a long time before all the hashers had staggered in.  We’re still trying to figure out why Rocks Off decided to take s detour along the ridge, but he eventually found a way back down to us.  Voodoo Doll was the last to arrive, staggering a bit and rather uncommunicative by that point.  But all recovered fairly quickly, with the help of liquid refreshment and good food!

The circle of friendship was drawn but the sorry soul had snuck off and made yet another hasty departure.  We will catch up with him one of these days.  There is no escaping the initiation….he might as well get it over with!! 

A rumour started circulating that there was a birthday boy among us, and out came a delicious cake for Rat Catcher.  The rendition of Happy Birthday was slightly less off key than normal.  The wind made lighting the candles difficult, so finally the whole table was moved under the protection of the hut.  They were finally lit, and a big huff and puff and out they went, and soon the cake was disappearing quickly!

It was a great hash for all those who braved the rough terrain.   Lucky for Yeti that the plane was delayed or he’d have lost his partners in crime, and would have had to take all the grief on his own!  Great going, guys

In two weeks, it will be Short’n’Sweet’s last hash, and the location is the VC (yes, we will hash before we party!!)  Since he is leaving, the Ascension Hash House Harriers are in need of a new religious advisor.  Any volunteers?????
