Ascension : Church News
Submitted by The Islander (Clive & Jenny Duncan) 26.05.2006 (Article Archived on 15.06.2006)

It will be a busy week for a number of us who will be involved in preparing for the Ascension Day Fair on Saturday.

Dear Friends,

It will be a busy week for a number of us who will be involved in preparing for the Ascension Day Fair on Saturday.  When I chaired the meeting, just after I came back from the UK, the day of the fair was some weeks away and here we are with only a few more  to go before the big day.  Look forward to seeing you at the Fair emptying your wallets and pockets!!

It is not unusual to hear children say 'I love you' to their parents or even when we receive a telephone call from them.  The one thing that Jesus has commanded us to do is to love one another.   We know that love brings out the best in people and are at their best when this happens.  If we are going to respond fully to what Jesus has commanded, to love one another, we cannot limit our love just to those who are close to us but everyone.

Have an enjoyable week

Canon Clive.
