Ascension : Ladybirds keep smiling!
Submitted by The Islander (Sarah Coverdale) 30.03.2006 (Article Archived on 13.04.2006)

As our second visitor in our project – “People Who Help Us” the Ladybirds had a visit from Johnny Hobson the Dentist and his dog Dugan.

As our second visitor in our project – “People Who Help Us” the Ladybirds had a visit from Johnny Hobson the Dentist and his dog Dugan.

It isn’t the first time Dugan the dog has visited us, so some children knew what a rascal he can be, however he was very well behave and let the children brush his teeth.  It was quite a job making sure we got them all clean.
It was only after his teeth were gleaming again that he started his mischief as he rinsed – soaking all the children and the mum’s in the process.
Johnny then gave the parents a reminder on the best ways to look after young childrens’ teeth.  With a few reminders on what is especially bad for them… too much sugar and sweets, but reassurance that as long as we brush them thoroughly and keep visiting the dentists regularly we shouldn’t get too many problems.
Just to make sure to set the children off in the right direction Johnny then handed out toothbrushes and toothpaste, which the children were delighted with.

Thank you very much to Johnny and Dugan and Desree for coming to visit us.
Ladybirds Nursery Group meets Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 10-11:30, at the Ladybirds Building, Two Boats Village.  For more details contact Sarah 4535.
