Swarm Taekwondo Ascension Island is proud to congratulate four of its students on passing their Dan grading. The grading took place on Wednesday 2nd November at the RAF Ascension Base Gymnasium. Congratulations go to Russell Peters, on achieving his 3rd Dan Black Belt, Helena Bennett, Carly Thomas and Dayna Benjamin on achieving their 2nd Dan Black Belt. The grading was conducted by Master William Darlington, 5th Dan, whose visit was made possible due to kind funding from the British Taekwondo Control Board.
During Master Darlington’s visit the students took the opportunity to attend an Instructor Course and Referee Course. The instructor course is now a mandatory requirement for all instructors, for insurance purposes. By attending these courses it will ensure that club can continue successfully into the future. On behalf of Swarm Taekwondo we would like to thank the RAF for the use of the Gym, Sqn Ldr Windsor and CPL Saxton for presenting the belts and certificates, Cable and Wireless for the use of their conference room, and Master Darlington for taking time out of his busy schedule to come and conduct the grading.
Swarm Taekwondo are hoping to start a beginners Taekwondo course in January 2006, so watch this space!
