For the first Sunday in each month there will be an extra service with the celebration of Mass at 8 am followed by a Family Service at 10.30 am. The Family Service is not something new that is being introduced which is more or less geared towards the younger people. Refreshments will be served as usual in Church afterwards.
This coming Sunday the newly elected Churchwardens, Alternate Warden, Parish Councillors and Sides persons will be admitted to their office during the morning service. I ask that you hold them up in your prayers and be present in Church to support them as they take on their respective duties.
From time to time we are looking for readers to replace those who have left the Island or who are about to leave. If you would like to become a reader in St. Mary's please feel free to come and talk this over with me or speak to my wife Jenny. With the current number we have, a reader may only be required to read once in every three months. Please think about it, we look forward to hearing from you.
Have you noticed that we are back to one member in the choir? I have made several appeals in the past year or so to try and get more people interested in joining the choir but have not been very successful. So here I am again, seeking new members. I have no doubt in my mind that there are people out there who can help but are a little shy to come forward. If you are one of these, feel free to come and have a chat with Cheryl or myself.
So far there is still only one person who has registered for confirmation. I am still prepared to receive names.
Telephone No. 6431.
The Ascension Day Fair is slowly creeping up on us. It is still not too late to put forward your ideas or suggestions to the Committee. We need your help to make the Fair a success.
With Love and Prayers.
