The main objectives of the visit in relation to the Access Project are:-
· To finalise project management arrangements for the detailed design and construction phases of the project

· To increase awareness and understanding of the project on St Helena.
To do this the DFID team will hold a series of meetings with the St Helena Access Project Team, the newly established Development Board, which includes private sector and civil society representatives, and with various government departments. The team will also hold meetings with a wider range of stakeholders on St Helena to develop terms of reference for the Social and Environmental Impact Analyses.
The DFID team and members of St Helena Access Project Team will meet with the public in the Consulate Hotel on the evening of Tuesday 26th April to answer any questions you might have. There will also be radio interviews on Thursday 28th April, and you are invited to send in any questions you may have to Radio St Helena and Saints FM Radio.
In addition to the work on the Access Project, members of the DFID team will also be working with SHG to take forward issues relating to modernising government, constitutional change, the recommendations of the recent fiscal review, and the Overseas Territories Environment Project (OTEP).
