Ascension : BROWNIES “LEND A HAND”
Submitted by The Islander (Phillip Stevens) 31.03.2005 (Article Archived on 21.04.2005)

Once again, the 1st Ascension Brownie Guides were out picking up litter.

The girls and their leaders perform this community service several times a year, as part of fulfilling their motto of “Lend a Hand”.  On March 22 the girls were in the One Boat area, where they picked up the impressive amount of 8 large bin bags worth of rubbish in half an hour!  The girls are to be commended for their efforts on behalf of keeping Ascension beautiful.  Thanks to all the girls and leaders who helped out!

Shari Parkhill,

Brown Owl
