The First Ascension Scouts hosted a "whistle stop" visit from the First Jamestown Scouts on the last RMS trip.

The First Ascension Scouts hosted a "whistle stop" visit from the First Jamestown Scouts on the last RMS trip. 20 Scouts and Leaders arrived and despite spending just 6 hours with us, we managed a full Programme of activities for them.

First stop a chance to see some Baby Turtles we`d rescued the previous day from a Frigate Bird attacking their nest.

Next up to Command Hill to see Wideawake Runway and then down to the Command Hill Lava tunnel below -  kinda like "being inside a volcano"!

Onwards via the NAFFI for an ice cream and up Green Mountain. We had three Land Rovers and Stedson with us and so were able to drive right up to just below the Dew Pond - an experience itself. Then up through the bamboos to the Dew Pond where some uncalled for splashing took place (I couldn`t help myself!)

On the way down we had several stops to pick up and examine some land crabs which seemed to hold a particular interest for many of the scouts.

Next stop was a visit around the Ariane Station c/o Caz and Nicky. By this time it was nearing midday and a rendezvous at Comfortless Cove with Ascension Scouts released early from school took place.

Canoes / raft / swimming / games and just making friends took place over the last couple of hours with a very welcome lunch of sandwiches and fruit delivered by HH The Administrator who also gave a formal welcome.

An exchange of shields and badges then took place before whisking everyone back to the Pierhead.
An all too short a visit but great fun had by all and great to see a fine bunch of St. Helena Scouts.
