ASCENSION:

A very dry week over the island. The rainfall total for the week was a very disappointing 0.1mm. That said, if it remains dry until then end of the month, it will be the driest June on record at the airfield.

Last week’s top temperature was on Tuesday.

ST. HELENA:

It has been fairly cloudy for much of the week across the Island with occasional showers. Temperatures have been depressed with a high of only 20.9C.

UK:

The British Isles have seen a very unsettled week with Atlantic lows crossing the country and bringing plenty of wet and windy weather. A particularly nasty depression tracked east over England on Wednesday, bringing weather more suited to the Autumn rather than the Summer.

The top temperature reached this week, was 24C at Gravesend on Sunday and the low was a nippy 1C up on Shap Fell on Monday night. Some very wet conditions were experienced over England on Wednesday as heavy rain spread eastwards. The residents of Buxton may have been looking for the ark after receiving 1.82 inches of rain. Despite the unseasonable weather, there were some ‘pleasant’ days; Tiree enjoyed 15.8 hours of sunshine on Tuesday.

FALKLANDS:

A changeable week across the Falklands with some very unsettled weather and a few brighter interludes. Night lows touched the zero mark on Wednesday night. The mildest day was Saturday with 9.5C.
