On behalf of St. Mary’s P.C.C., and the ADF Committee, I am writing to thank everyone for their magnificent support of the ADF Fair and the Royal Diamond Jubilee Service.

On behalf of St. Mary’s P.C.C., and the ADF Committee, I am writing to thank everyone for their magnificent support of the ADF Fair and the Royal Diamond Jubilee Service. The whole day was given a dramatic start with the Parade and Marching band of the uniformed youth organisations.

Marching from the Saints Club to the Church, they all looked smart and sounded terrific ! The church service was joyful; particular thanks to Cheryl Anthony, Cedi Henri and Paul Cook who provided the music. Our Administrator Colin Wells spoke of the development and primacy of democratic Government under Queen Elizabeth II and the stability and benefits we have all enjoyed during her reign.

Wing Commander Andrews then spoke of the huge respect which our Armed Forces have for the Queen who holds eighty-nine titles in connection with the armed forces in Great Britain and in countries such as Canada and New Zealand. Fr. Chris concluded with a brief account of the Queen’s coronation oaths to defend the Christian Faith and uphold the Church of England.

On view, in the church was the magnificent Jubilee Cake made by Steve Yon of St. Helena. Fr. Chris invited Winnie Bagley, Dave Wood and Marion Kilsby to cut the cake ; there was rapturous applause. Fr. Chris publicly acknowledged the help given by Helen Scott and Miles Miller to make this a bumper fair. Special thanks to Diana Stroud whose Brownies took slices of Jubilee Cake to the stall holders .

Maj. Andy Peterson, Mandy ,and staff of the American Base were a tremendous help. So too were Wng. Cmdr. Andrews and all the British M.O.D. personnel.

Many thanks to all the A.I.G. workforce, the Fire Dept., the Crane operators, to Johnny Hobson who got blood out of stones! to IDL for magnificent rocking chairs and tables, all the stall holders ,Alison Birkett, the youth organisations, Michele Exelby, the list goes on and on of those who will be thanked by letter for a wonderful ADF 2012.

Thank you and God bless you all for making it such a happy and memorable day.

From Fr. Chris and all at St. Mary’s Church.
