Serco Defence, Science and Nuclear have a vacancy for an Operations Controller.

 

Role:

 

Serco Defence, Science and Nuclear have a vacancy for an Operations Controller.

 

Location:

 

Airhead, Ascension Island Base

 

Hours:

The post will entail working shift hours, the work pattern is; Two consecutive 10 hour working days, followed by two consecutive days working 14 hours on night shift. This is followed by 3 days off. This equates to a working week of 40 hours spread over an 8 week period. Applicants must be able to work this shift pattern.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitoring of all aircraft movements, and disseminating the information to all Base personnel.

Accurate compilation of the Operations Log Book recording all occurrences and actions taken

Arranging Met briefings for aircrew

Management of the Base pager system

Monitoring the emergency phone and take actions as required.

All other relevant operations details.  

Any other task within the post holder’s capabilities as directed by the Contract Management

 

Essential skills, desirable experience and personal qualities required

 

·         Possess a good standard of numeracy and literacy

·         Possess good IT skills

·         Have a calm, confident manner and temperament

·         Demonstrate excellent team working skills

·         Be prepared to undergo a security clearance

·         Demonstrate excellent team working skills

·         Be physically fit

·         Good interpersonal and communication skills

·         Proactive customer service skills

·         Flexible working approach

·         Strong personal values and self motivation

 

Conditions:
