From: FATHER CHRISTOPHER BROWN

Bishop Richard Fenwick will arrive today,Wed.Nov.23rd..There are ten adult Confirmation candidates who will be confirmed at the Eucharist on Sunday at 10-30a.m.. Please come along and support them  with your prayers. This is the day when they make a commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and affirm the promises once made for them by their God-parents when they were Infants.

For others who may be interested in Confirmation next year please note that an  Alpha Course will be starting in January. This is a series of DVD’s shown over a ten week period; all the crucial topics for understanding the Christian faith are included with opportunity for discussion and fellowship with other people who are searching for intelligent answers to the big questions such as can a Christian embrace the scientific theory of evolution; are science and theology compatible? Both questions can be answered with  “yes” ,but the aim of the course is to explain things so that you develop an intelligent understanding and can share your faith with others. It’s not blind faith that  we need but unblind faith i.e. faith  which makes sense in our hearts and in our minds.

If you happen to be free on Thursday afternoon, Bishop Richard Fenwick will be leading the service of  Induction for “Celebration of a New Ministry”. The service starts at 2-30p.m. and lasts less than half- an-hour. It is not a very easy time of the day for  many but it will be  good to have the prayerful support of those who can make it.

Please pray for our Confirmation Candidates and for Bishop Richard as he prepares to bring to our Services his message of hope and love. He will be leaving us on Tuesday 29th.Nov.. He is deeply grateful to those who have welcomed him to their homes and especially to His Honour the Administrator who is giving a dinner in honour of Bishop Richard on Monday,28th.Nov..
