The hounds congregated at Babcock Mess to welcome back Kilt Lifter and Twin Cheeks.

Hash No, 1374

Hares -  Uncle Fester, Kilt Lifter, Twin Cheeks

Hounds –Man Beater, Drop’Em Blossom, Sniffy, Gok Kwan, Cat Walk, Mirror Poser, Buzz Lightyear, Warpspeed, I can’t remember, Major Spud, No Brakes, Gumby Two Scoops, Mr Fluffy, Thumper, Felicity, Emerus, Elaine, Anne-Marie

Après Hash  - Blade Runner, Danger Mouse, Baggage Boy, Boy Racer, Shark’s Tail, Unstable Rider, Baby Mohawk

The hounds congregated at Babcock Mess to welcome back Kilt Lifter and Twin Cheeks.  Uncle Fester promised a hash with lots of downs, which obviously meant that there would have to be the corresponding lots of ups!  The hash included six circle checks, two bar checks.  The usual hazards were explained with the cautionary words of “once you leave Two Boats follow the hash carefully otherwise you may find yourself walking into a cactus” and the hounds were off.

After a short delay to ensure that Sniffy was on his way as he was in charge of the drinks for the après hash, the on on lead off at a sedate pace up the road through Two Boats Village over the stile to the first circle check at the two boats.  Warpspeed, Buzz Lightyear, Mr Fluffy, Thumper, Felicity and Emerus were nowhere to be seen so it was decided that the hounds should proceed without waiting for the little ones.

The hounds then headed along the old donkey trial halfway up towards Dampier’s Drip to the second circle check.  So far so good without any too challenging “ups”.  Sweets were distributed and the hares explained the on on headed off the path and over the side down  the mountain.  Again, with further warnings to carefully follow the hash, the hounds zig zagged down towards the level ground below via a bar check and the third circle check. Fortunately there were no casualties in the tungi. 

Mr Fluffy, Thumper, Felicity and Emerus could be seen from the donkey trail above and after a quick wave and having waited for the stragglers (Gok Kwan and Mirror Poser) it was off towards  the fourth circle check over the more gentle slopes avoiding the tungi and loose rocks – Uncle Fester having fallen on the loose rocks when setting the hash the day before.

The hounds then headed off towards the road through the bush and over a small wire fence.  Kilt Lifter very chivalrously held the wire down and then hung back.  The FRBs assumed this was to help others over the fence until they came across a back arrow.  The hounds turned round to be greeted by Kilt Lifters smirking face.  He was forgiven as he stayed around to hold the fence down and provide a hand back over the fence.

Having then found the correct path the on on wound through the bush and back to the road and the final circle check.  The on on home was along North East Bay Road, past Two Boats Club and back to the Babcock Mess. After Hash business of naming Maz who will now forever be known as No Brakes and a few beers the Hounds all headed home to shower and change and return to the Mess for Uncle Fester’s leaving do. 

Well Done to Mr Fluffy, Thumper, Felicity and Emerus for hanging in there and who made it back to Babcock Mess at 7.30 and long after everyone had departed.

A big thank you to Babcock for extending the hospitality to the Hash, a great night was had by all.
