Ascension : Hash Trash - Hash No. 996
Submitted by The Islander (Gavin Yon) 01.04.2004 (Article Archived on 15.04.2004)

Everyone gathered at the Old Exile’s Beach Hut (sorry for the little bit of misinformation in the last Hash Trash!).

Hares:  Major, Fugitive & 100 Watt

Hounds:  Bloodsucker, Morticia, Puff Grannie, Frank’n’Furter, Oh That Woman, Goat, Mildew, Uncle Fester, Life Preservers, Bug Boy, Resus Andy, Organ Grinder, Pirate, Lucky Dog, Major Mac

Apres Hashers: Heathcliff, La Femme Fenomenal, Talking Head, Budweiser Belly & Street Hasher

Everyone gathered at the Old Exile’s Beach Hut (sorry for the little bit of misinformation in the last Hash Trash!).  It was a small, but eager crowd, ready to take on what was being rumoured to be a long hash.  At the huddle we were warned about the length of the run, and the walkers were warned not to try and walk the runner’s route.  Seems we might be a tad bit late in getting back if we did.  Also, since we would be crossing the road, we were reminded to watch for vehicles, it being the rush hour in Georgetown after all!

After that, the on-on took us along the track to Georgetown.  We cut across the rocks, eventually meeting up with the road across from the old Golf Club hut.  Fugitive was good enough to direct us all safely across, as he slowed down the traffic.  After that it was off across the old golf course.  Then we headed up the gully adjacent to the one-way road.  It was a long, long way to the next circle check which was at the top of the hill!  After a much needed rest it was time for the runners and walkers to part company.  Morticia was now in charge of the walkers who headed back down the road.  We soon veered off towards the cannons and the old Governor’s Lodge.

The runners disappeared towards the back side of Cross Hill.  They traveled all the way around, catching up with the walkers as they careened down the hill below the lodge!  Then it was on-on for home, past the Exile’s, the museum, the cemetery and along the track to the start.  Apparently 100 Watt couldn’t follow his own trail and took a bit of a detour near the end, making life more difficult for himself.  The rest of the hounds seemed to have no trouble zeroing in on the refreshments, and the aroma of burning charcoal.  Major had stayed behind (some sad story about a knee injury) and had the fire ready to go when we arrive.

The food soon appeared and was gratefully gobbled by the group.  A few of the hounds had to depart early due to other engagements, but as usual, a few stayed behind and enjoyed themselves enough for everybody!

Thanks to Major, Fugitive and 100 Watt for a really great hash.  You do know how to put us through our paces. Great hash.

Next Week:  Command Hill

WEGHT WATCHERS ARE STILL CONTINUING AT THE HOSPITAL.

Come and be weighed every Friday at any time.

Hares:  Chief Longpole & Fugitive
