Ascension : FAREWELL TO THIS BEAUTIFUL, UNIQUE ISLAND
Submitted by The Islander (Islander Editors) 19.08.2010 (Article Archived on 02.09.2010)

Well, as this message goes to print it's scary to think that we will have landed back on UK soil ready to start our new adventure over there.

Well, as this message goes to print it's scary to think that we will have landed back on UK soil ready to start our new adventure over there. We couldn't leave this Island without saying a very sad, but very fond farewells to all our dear friends we are leaving behind. It has been an absolute pleasure to be a part of the St Helenian community, you have made us all so welcome and made our 4 years on this beautiful Island a very pleasurable, memorable one that we will hold dear in our hearts FOREVER. I describe this island as being like Marmite! - ' you either love it, or you hate it ', and by Joe we have all thoroughly enjoyed every single day on ' The Rock '.

Daniel & Abigail will miss all their school friends so much, they have had such a terrific time on island, swimming in the warm crystal waters down English Bay & Comfortless Cove, and not forgetting Two Boats pool.

We have all enjoyed our Saturday afternoon hashing time immensely, as this provided valuable family & friends time and we will all sorely miss our hash buddies and the social side of this fun fitness activity!!

And, of course we cannot forget our diving experiences we have had down here, diving with dolphins, Manta rays and turtles have too been an experience we will remember forever, and it's been a pleasure working with the students to get them through their qualifications.

There are just so many wonderful memories we are taking with us, and so many wonderful people we have met and shared our lives with, but I will leave you with the words of the famous Arnold Schwarzenegger WE WILL BE BACK.

Bye Bye Beautiful Ascension, we will really, really miss you.

Tony, Catherine, Daniel & Abigail XXXX
