The Plant and Transport Supervisor will be directly responsible to the Site Operations Manager.
The Position
Organising and controlling the works associated with a modern plant and transport fleet.
Control of a modern diagnostic system
Allocating works to staff. Up to 7 full time staff employed at present.
Organising training
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with all COSHH and company HEALTH and SAFETY standards.
To ensure all work is done in accordance with the MOD Specification or the manufacturers recommendation where appropriate.
To carry out any duties as directed by the Site Operations Manager (OHAR) that may be required to meet the Company’s contractual obligations.
Any other duties as instructed by the Site Operations Manager
The Person
A proven team leader with at least 5 years experience in this position. Applicants should be a mature confident person who is a team leader and is self-motivating. Should be able to communicate well with both military and civilian personnel (written and oral). Have good organisational skills and can work under pressure and meet deadlines.
A full driving license is required
The Remuneration
The rate of pay for Plant and Transport Supervisor will depend on qualifications and experience.
Turner contract conditions for accompanied staff will apply and is for the duration of 24 months. There will be a three-month probationary period. A subsistence allowance will be paid as a Cost of Living Allowance.
The contracted hours of work will be forty hours. Any hours worked in excess of 40 will attract payment of 1˝ x hourly rate. Overtime hours worked on a Sunday and public holidays qualify for 2 x hourly rate. Current Turner GCMS policy is to work fifty hours per week to which the successful applicant will be expected to adhere.
All of the above duties are carried out in accordance with UK regulations and to ISO 9002:2000 standards.
