Ascension : Thank You and Goodbye
Submitted by The Islander (Islander Editors) 05.08.2010 (Article Archived on 19.08.2010)

As Brooke and I leave Ascension Island to pick up the pieces of our lives in the UK, We would like to say our heartfelt Thank You to everyone

As Brooke and I leave Ascension Island to pick up the pieces of our lives in the UK, We would like to say our heartfelt Thank You to everyone, to all the family and friends who have supported us through the last weeks. So many of you have helped us in one way or another that if we start mentioning any names the Islander will be full. You all made life that little bit easier by helping us to pack, sign paperwork, baby sitting, feeding us, it goes on and on.

Today when I went to say my bye-bye to my beloved Darren I told him that I leave him in all your safe hands because Brooke and I both know that you all will continue to visit him and make sure that his grave will be looked after.

We have so many wonderful memories of Ascension.

Brooke has her special places where she visited with her dad.

So as we say good bye our hearts are heavy, but we will return to this special Island that hold the One that we both miss and love so much.
