Ascension : News From St. Mary's
Submitted by The Islander (Clive & Jenny Duncan) 18.03.2004 (Article Archived on 01.04.2004)

Very shortly, Jeanette our Churchwarden, will be leaving us to return to the United Kingdom.

Dear Friends,

Very shortly, Jeanette our Churchwarden, will be leaving us to return to the United Kingdom.  We will most certainly miss her on Sunday mornings, ringing the church bell, assisting the sidespersons and doing other chores in the church.  We are indeed most grateful to Jeanette for all  she did for us over the past months, may God richly bless her, Darren and Ethan with their future plans.  One never knows what the future holds, they might well be back visiting us again.

With Cheryl being away undergoing medical treatment in the United Kingdom, Johnny Green, who was the Alternate Warden, has taken on the duties of Churchwarden, which means that we are currently without an Alternate Warden and only one Churchwarden.  Hopefully this situation will change after the Easter Vestry meeting in April.

Speaking about the Vestry Meeting, have you started thinking about nominations for Churchwardens, Alternate Wardens and Parish Council Members?  As promised last week, Nomination Forms are available at the back of the Church.  Remember the meeting is only a few weeks away.

Next Sunday is Mothering Sunday. The 10.30 service will be a Family Service  with the youth organisations on parade.  The band has already started practicing the hymns and will be meeting again in Church this coming Thursday at 8 pm.  If you would like to help with the singing on Sunday, then you are welcome to join us on Thursday evening.

Have a pleasant week.

Canon Clive.
