Ascension : Vacancy Trainee Motorman - RMS St Helena

Assist with various tasks relating to servicing, maintenance and routine inspection of all mechanical, hydraulic and electrical plant onboard.

 


Main Duties:


Assist with various tasks relating to servicing, maintenance and routine inspection of all mechanical, hydraulic and electrical plant onboard.


 


Carry out assigned tasks relating to the cleanliness and orderliness of the engine room and associated machinery spaces.


 


Carry out assigned tasks relating to all tank preparation operations, bunkering and ballasting operations


 


Handling and stowing of ship’s stores and spare gear.


 


Participate in the shipboard training programme in order to obtain full Engine Room Watch Rating qualification.


 


Qualifications:


Mechanical aptitude and experience/knowledge of similar tasks to the above would be an advantage; however, full training will be given to the successful applicant.

As soon as possible
